Trauma is not just a story from the past; it is an experience held deeply in the body and the nervous system. Whether you are navigating a single traumatic event (PTSD), the compounded weight of prolonged, repeated trauma (Complex PTSD), or relational wounds from childhood (Developmental Trauma), your body’s responses are valid. They are brilliant survival adaptations.
Traditional "talk therapy" is often not enough to heal these deep wounds, because trauma lives in the parts of the brain that don't have words. At NeuroHaven Therapies, we provide a neuro-affirming, deeply safe space to help your nervous system finally realize: the threat is over.
Healing requires us to first establish safety in the body before we try to change the mind. We utilise a "bottom-up" approach, deeply grounded in Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), alongside the vital work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and Dr. Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model.
IPNB shows us that our brains and nervous systems are continually shaped by our relationships. By using somatic (body-based) and neuro-focused therapies, we work closely with your "Window of Tolerance" to gently widen your capacity to navigate life's triggers with resilience and self-compassion.
Through the lens of Interpersonal Neurobiology, we explore how your nervous system adapted to survive your past environments. Using Polyvagal Theory, we map your unique survival responses to understand your triggers. Together, we will discover practical, sensory-friendly tools to physically signal safety to your body.
"Where you look affects how you feel." Brainspotting is a powerful, advanced brain-body therapy that helps locate, process, and release trauma, emotional pain, and physical symptoms stored deep in the subcortical brain. It allows for profound healing without the need to continuously retell the traumatic story.
Developmental and attachment trauma occur when our earliest relationships were unsafe, unpredictable, or absent. We work gently to repair these relational wounds, helping you build a secure sense of self, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate safe connections with others.
Trauma therapy should never feel re-traumatising. You are entirely in the driver's seat. We move strictly at the pace of your nervous system, prioritising your comfort, consent, and containment at every step of the journey.
You don't have to carry this alone.
If you are ready to begin gently processing your trauma in a space that honours your pace and your unique nervous system, we are here for you.
